Do I Qualify
The sale of OwnPlace house and land packages is restricted to those people who meet the eligibility criteria.
This criteria is detailed in the Home Buyer Concession Scheme (HBCS) administered and set by the ACT Revenue Office. You can view this criteria at www.revenue.act.gov.au/home_buyer_assistance/home_buyer_duty_concession
In summary, to meet the eligibility criteria you must:
have a combined household income up to a total of $120,000 (with additional allowance if there are dependent children);
be 18 years old or over;
satisfy a current and previous property ownership test;
reside in the property as your principal place of residence for a continuous period of six months starting within one year of completion of the Land Contract; and
NEW: own the home for a period of three years from the date the Land Contract is completed. To find out more about the three year restriction on transfer click here.
