How We Do It
At all levels of all projects and in our organisation in general we apply the same basic principal.
Listen - Engage - Plan - Resource - Process - Deliver
This philosophy has been formalised in our Business Management Manual (BMS).
RAM has formalised its approach to Quality, OH&S and the environment as part of the development of the Company's System Manual, in accordance with ISO9001:2000, AS/NZS-4801:2001 and AS/NZS ISO14001:2004. This includes the preparation of project specific safety and environmental plans as sub plans of the project plan.
RAM's BMS covers the following key areas:
- Management responsibility
- Contract review
- Document control
- Purchasing (including engagement of sub-contractors)
- Control of customer supplied product
- Process control
- Inspection and testing
- Control of non-conforming product

An outline of RAM Constructions BMS is as follows:
Quality Control
RAM's BMS is the Company's operating manual consisting of procedures, forms and checklists that formalise the way the Company deals with all aspects of running the Company and specific projects.
The BMS sets out in a logical manner the key processes of the Company's operations, employees' individual responsibilities and procedures, to ensure that specified quality, safety and environmental requirements are met or exceeded.
RAM's BMS is internally and externally audited to ensure continued compliance at all levels.
Procedures in RAM's BMS ensure that all legislation relating to the Company’s operations is regularly reviewed and where appropriate systems and procedures are updated in line with requirements. RAM is updated on changes to applicable legislation through various memberships with industry bodies including the MBA, HIA, LCA, ACT Construction Industry Long Service Leave Board and our private certifier DLIQ.
Our ability to manage Quality, Environmental and OHS activities has been recognized with RAM’s Business Management System incorporating OHS, Environmental and Quality Management having been granted third party accreditation in accordance with the Australian Standards, with external compliance audits conducted every 6 months.
OHS and Environmental Management
RAM Constructions has a documented OHS and Environmental System with 3rd Party Certification under AS/NZS4801:2001 and AS/NZS ISO14001:2004, which has been implemented and audited externally since 2003.
RAM also has a current Environmental Protection Agreement in place with Environment ACT which includes clauses on the protection of trees, dust suppression, silt management, noise and other environmental issues.
RAM’s approach to the delivery of projects is to establish project specific plans including safety plans, environmental plans and associated silt management and traffic plans and controls immediately upon the award of a contract.
The project Environmental Plan, silt management plan and traffic management plan if required, in conjunction with the Project Plan and RAM’s System Manual, will ensure that all quality, safety and environmental issues pertaining to the project are addressed via established procedures.
